Shadowed

A small Finnish picture book for children about a girl who has lost her mom. The little girl stayed alone with her dad. They both experience deep sadness, confusion, and grief that has been transformed into two strange creatures, the Shadows. The creatures hinder them, but at the same time protect them with their umbrellas. A Shadow-shape nostalgia is an amazingly accurate picture of how people experience sad emotions and how they learn to live and treat sadness.
