Volunteers in Cesta domů

The work of volunteers is extremely important for all activities of Cesta domů. Therefore they first need to attend a one-year-training programme. Volunteers help in client families or accompany bereaved relatives, as well as help in the Late Afternoon Club, upon organizing cultural, educational and beneficial events, with the administration and editorial works, they transport aids to client families and perform other useful tasks. Volunteers participate in supervision on regular basis, where they reflect their activity under professional guidance.

The Volunteers of the Year!

In March 2010, a Cesta domů volunteer Bohumila Fleyberková was awarded the prize Firelock - volunteer of the year by the Prague mayor.

In February 2007, Eva and Otto Adamec, parents of three children and volunteers of Cesta domů were awarded the prize called Firelock - a volunteer of the year from Pavel Bém, the Prague Mayor. We highly appreciate that this award of the volunteer work of prestigious status was awarded to a Cesta domů expert for the second consecutive year (2006 Simon Goldmann was awarded this price). We consider this an expression of esteem for the work of all our volunteers.

 

Every year 14 - 25 new volunteers complete the training in palliative care. The course continues for 9 months and is closed with a certificate for each person. The number of cooperating volunteers is always increaseing. See reports.
