The Homecoming Library

is the only specialized public palliative library in the Czech Republic.

It has a unique stock of books focused on the care for the dying as well as other related issues and it also contains a number of foreign specialized publications, which are otherwise unavailable in the Czech Republic. The library helps both the professional and general public as well as students of various fields of study to find their way in the matter of palliative care and provides summaries of individual books in the form of annotations. The library participate in the system of books exchange among libraries, thus providing services to readers from all over the country.

 

The library offers over 2 500 book titles and 10 periodics. Its Internet on-line catalogue has been visited by over 100 000 visitors. The library includes study room with computer and Internet connection.

The library also organizes education events and a successful countrywide artistic contest for children called Draw your grandma and grandpa.

The library cooperates with the Comprehensive Catalogue of the Czech Republic, to which it has contributed records of its monographies and series.

 

The library cooperates with the Municipal Library of Prague, which provides regular borrowings of exchangeable book files to the Homecoming.

Our hospice library has been founded in September 2004 with the financial help of EU Phare.
